Cutting Red Tape

New procurement thresholds will mean that around 40 per cent of government contracts – those under $200 000 – will require written quotes only. This cut in red tape will ensure more business for Territory companies and less paperwork.

Our commitment to freeing up the system and reducing paperwork will get projects up and running sooner, allowing the Territory to take full advantage of the Australian Government’s $42 billion stimulus package.

These measures, which are designed to get work happening out on the ground and keep Territorians in jobs, began on 30 March 2009.
