Growing our Centres

With so much growth in the Territory today, it’s important for us to plan now the direction the Territory will take in the future.

Despite covering a massive area, most of the Territory’s population is concentrated in urban areas located in the Top End and Central Australia. Ensuring these centres have excellent infrastructure and the ability to house, educated and care for the health of a growing population is a priority.

To make sure every Territorian has access to the same essential services found in the urban centres, 20 towns across the Territory have been earmarked to become Territory Growth Towns, providing education, police and health services to their surrounding communities.
